The students of the 12th standard are well aware of how to prepare for the board examinations, but they want to know how to achieve better marks. Here are some tips to secure maximum marks in the CBSE senior secondary board exams.

Every subject is important in the 12th board examination, there are three streams, Science, Commerce, and Art, As per the Senior Secondary level of Education, all the streams are equally important as per the marks of the subjects are concerned.

Admissions to colleges depend on the marks of the 12th standard, with maximum cut-off marks above 95% for English, Economics, Mathematics, Political Science, Physics, and Chemistry required, and above 85% marks go for commerce, History, Geography, and Home Science required above 75% marks get admissions for pass course like combined maximum marks in top-four subjects.

Some of the students above 75% don’t get admission as the cut-off closed around 80% only below the cut-off all the students don’t get regular admissions as per Delhi government colleges are concerned. Students are suggested that all lessons of all the subjects need to be prepared well as per the syllabus. Questions of the lessons along with examples need to be revised many times. During preparation following points are to be noted.

·       Make brief notes or highlight the main quotations, definitions, special notes, authors, inventors, formulas, headings, and subheadings, to remember notes while revision the lessons again.

·       You need to check your efficiency to attempt all the questions to be solved well in time, then confidently go for the next chapters.

·        Don’t leave any chapter pending because during exams you will not be able to attempt lessons thoroughly.

·        Studying the pattern and syllabus thoroughly, such as the type of questions,  marking schedule, chapter covered, and last year’s question papers will help you to understand the pattern of the questions asked.

How to prepare a study time schedule

Study time schedule to be prepared to achieve the target to have more time to be assigned for difficult subjects. Time schedule is important for all the subjects now we have to set the timetable as the exam going to be held in March 2024. Now you have enough time to prepare, need to set a plan of action as follows:

  • The syllabus of study can be divided into three parts, First go through all the chapters with a clear understanding with the help of teachers, tutors, helping guides, or the internet. Make notes on every chapter mentioning each and every critical point.
  • Secondly, revise all the subjects and each and every chapter, with the help of notes you have made clearing doubts with the help of teachers, tutors, and the internet, BY’JUS, or whatever resources you can apply.
  • Finally, go through all chapters, check all the chapters, clear all the doubts, and check the efficiency of attempting any question on the same pattern. And practice attempting question paper setting time as exams.

Stay fit and take a break during preparation  

This is the first suggestion to the students that they need to keep themselves fit during the exams, take a proper diet, get sound sleep, and get a refresher to prepare for the exams. Students need to take short breaks for 15 minutes in between studying for the next chapter to get refreshed and fit.  

Solve samples and previous year’s question papers

Students are suggested to solve the question papers of the previous years and sample papers of all the subjects available at BYJU'S, and on the internet, which helps to prepare as per patterns of the question papers. Points to remember:

·        Practice solving question papers within the stipulated time to keep eyes on the clock, and track their problem-solving speed.

·        Samples available on the internet, or online coaching institutes of apps, download app. As per the guidelines set your own paper test within an appropriate time just one day before appearing for exams.

Group study for clearing confusion 

Studying with a group of friends helps you to free discussion on the topics, every student needs to share their knowledge and always clear their doubts. Listening to and learning every doubt is important for preparation for exams in the group.

If you study with a clear mindset you can learn a lot, if you are disturbed and not concentrated, you can not learn even for a long time of continuous study. So study with a better understanding in limited time, and save time for the practice of difficult subjects.  

Write appropriate and creative answers

If you have described with your best without points in continuations they will mark average, and if have answered in the best way explaining with a clear point in short readable that affects the teachers for maximum marking.
